WPMS- Highlands Campus

Welcome to the Highlands

Guidance Department

8th grade parents and students: Please check out the PowerPoint below for information that will help you transition to White Plains High School in the fall.
We hope you were able to join us last night, February 15, 2017, for our presentation on Middle School success.  If you would like to view the PowerPoint, please click the link below.
The above presentation focused entirely on the academic challenges of Middle School.  On Wednesday, March 22,  we will focus on the social and emotional challenges.  These are complementary presentations, so we hope to see you in March.  To view the flyers and learn a little more about what we will present, please click the links below.
Philosophy of the Middle School Guidance Department
The philosophy of  Highlands School Counseling Department is based on the belief that every student is important and unique.  Our counseling staff is dedicated to fostering the development of our young adolescent students.  The work we do with individual students reflects this philosophy and guides us in our role as student advocates.  Counselors meet regularly with students, teachers, parents, and school leaders to create meaningful programs to cultivate students’ academic and social/emotional  development.

The mission of the White Plains City School District is to educate and inspire all students, while nurturing their dreams, so they learn continually, think critically, pursue their aspirations and contribute to a diverse and dynamic world.
