OCanada Mrs. Irlen's love for music began in her native Canada when she was eight years old.  She attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada where she earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree and a Bachelor of Education Degree.  After teaching K-8 music for two years in Canada, Mrs. Irlen moved to Connecticut to pursue a Masters in Music Education at The Hartt School, University of Hartford.  Upon conclusion of her graduate degree, she taught 4-6th grade classroom music and chorus in Simsbury Connecticut for four years.  She also served as the conductor of the Connecticut Children's Chorus. Mrs. Irlen then traveled to San Diego where she taught  Middle and High School Orchestra for four years before returning to the East Coast.  Mrs. Irlen is very happy to call White Plains Public Schools her home.

Music is a moral law.  It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.
