Grade 7 Winter Concert: Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.

Highlands Book Fair: The Book Fair is coming to Highlands! All students will visit with their CL, Read180 or AVID classes during the week of December 11th. Books may also be ordered online and will be delivered to the school after the winter break. More information is available on the Highlands Library Web Page: BOOKFAIR. Fine Art Club: Fine Art Club will meet Mondays after school in Room 330 with Mr. Bart for 7th and 8th graders.
Community Service Club: will meet today, Monday, December 11th. This meeting is only for teams 7A & D, and 8A & D. 7B & C and 8B & C will meet the next time.
Youth 2 Youth Club: will meet Monday, December 11. We meet in Room 160. All students are welcome! Speak to Mrs. Donahue, Student Assistance Counselor in Room 157A for more info.
8th Grade Digital Art Club: 8th grade Digital Art club is canceled tomorrow, Tuesday December 12 and will meet on THURSDAY, December 14 instead.
Girl Talk: 7th Grade Girl Talk will meet on Wednesday, December 13.
Programming Club: will meet on Wednesday December 13 in Room 206 2:30 - 4:15.
Multicultural Cooking Club: will meet Wednesday December 13 in Room 203.
The Courier: will meet on Thursday December 14 in Room 8. All students welcome!

Intramural Sports: Floor Hockey 12/11, 12/12, 12/13, 12/18, 12/19 Boys Lacrosse 12/14, 12/15, 12/20, 12/21 All Intramurals are being held outside so dress warm. When the weather does not cooperate we will use the fitness center. For lacrosse we will use sticks, helmets and gloves only. You can bring your own or borrow the schools equipment for the day.
Tennis Clinics: We are looking for students to sign up for the next session of tennis clinics provided by the United States Tennis Association. The lessons are free and run for 5 Friday nights, starting Dec. 1st at Delfino Park. Please see the Left Hand Tab for more info. 8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip: ATTN 8th Graders, Parents and Guardians! Registration for the 2018 Washington, D.C. trip is STILL open, but buses are filling up quickly! All registration documents MUST be submitted together. Registration includes the 1st payment of $110 (by check or money order ONLY--NO CASH), registration form, behavior contract and medical form (if you take medication outside of school). Scholarship applications are also available. All forms can be retrieved from school website, the front lobby or Mrs. Holder (Room 316) or Mrs. Spiconardi (Room 116). Please stop by with any questions you may have.
Homework Center: started on Monday, October 23rd and runs every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Teachers will be available to provide academic help for a variety of subject areas. Students will be required to sign up for Homework Center during their lunch periods in the cafeteria. There are a limited number of seats available and it is first come, first served.

WP PTA Book Donations: If you are fall cleaning - DON'T give away those Summer Reading (K-12) and TEST PREP books. Contact Caroline Furry <firstname.lastname@example.org> or Caroline Staab <email@example.com> and you can drop off at their homes for the May 2018 PTA FREE Book Celebration! In addition, if you would like to join our committee and support literacy please let us know. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers! Please no preK, coffee table books and/or reference books.
WINTERFEST DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY MARKET
It’s time to check your holiday shopping list and head over to WinterFest, White Plains’ downtown holiday market. Enjoy some holiday cheer and a special shopping experience. Pick up unique gifts for all the important people on your list.
WinterFest, presented by the City of White Plains, kicks off on Wednesday, Dec. 20th and runs through Sunday, Dec. 24th. The Market will be located on Court Street between Martine Avenue and Main Street (the same location as the Farmer’s Market) and will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Admission is free.
The event will feature artisans and crafts people selling one of a kind items... Discover high quality food, unique gifts and more. Winterfest promises to be a great way to complete your holiday shopping while also enjoying music and dance performances scheduled throughout the duration of the market.
