Join the WPCSD community in celebrating Computer Science Education Week and the Hour of Code!  This happens every year during the month of December, but you can learn to code anytime!

Code Monkey Jr. & Code Monkey
CodeMonkey Jr. teaches young learners computational thinking skills and the basics of coding through the use of blocks. Students will enter a world filled with captivating creatures and bright colors as they help a monkey on a mission collect bananas and unlock a treasure chest.

Beaver Achiever
Students will use block coding to help a beaver with fun and engaging tasks.

Dodo Does Math  
Students will write real code as they solve math
to help a dodo find her missing eggs.

Linus the Lemur | Grades K-2

5-8 year olds will use block coding to help a lemur collect computer items and save the LumLums.

DATA IS EVERYWHERE | Grades K-4 (includes narration for the learning texts)

This short course, will teach what data is, how to collect and organize it using different graph visualizations.

Create a Classic Maze
Try the basics of computer science with characters from Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies, and Scrat from Ice Age!

 

 

 

Script Academy: Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is a self-guided puzzle designed for Grades 2-5 kids without prior programming experience. You will guide Alice using functions with and without parameters.

Candy Quest  
Design your own candy troll and go on a multi-level quest for candy using code! 

Microsoft's Code a Carnival

Microsoft Code a Carnival image

Code your own classroom carnival with games like Whack-the-Mole, Burstin' Balloons, and Target Practice.

 

AI for Oceans
Learn how AI and machine learning can be used to address world problems.

 

Coding a Geometric Star Quilt (Seesaw & Code.org)
Students will learn about Native American star quilts, discuss patterns & design their own quilts.

Microsoft MakeCode Sparks Jr.
This is a simplified version of Sparks Flying and is fun for all ages.

Dragon Dash Game
Design your own custom dragon, then use programming to guide it through fun puzzles on its quest for treasure and coins!
You'll have to navigate through complex castles, find power-ups, and conquer knights to get all the treasure.

 

Puppy Adventure (Tynker)
Students use problem solving skills & learn to recognize patterns and write small programs.
