The Recruitment and Selection Process for Certified Staff
Applicants with completed files will be screened according to established criteria for each position. An interview team will select the candidates for interviews. Generally, 8-12 candidates will be contacted for each vacancy. The process consists of the following 3 components:
I. Interview: Interviews generally consist of a formal interview with a diverse interview committee lasting approximately 45 minutes.
II. Writing Sample: You will be requested to respond to specific questions/topics. III. Demonstration Lesson:
After the initial interview and writing sample, two to three semi-finalist candidates will be requested to return to the district to perform a demonstration lesson.
IV. Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Interviews Semi-Finalists
V. Recommendation to Board of Education:
The selected candidate will be offered the position and their file will be presented to the Board of Education for approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting. After Board of Education action, all applicants who were interviewed will be notified by letter that the position has been filled. Back to top menu
