Assignment Process
The White Plains City School District includes five elementary schools, one middle school on two campuses, one high school and one alternative school.
Elementary School
The five elementary schools in the White Plains City School District are:
- Church Street Elementary School
- George Washington Elementary School
- Mamaroneck Avenue Elementary School
- Post Road Elementary School
- Ridgeway Elementary School
School assignments are NOT made based on where a child lives in White Plains but are made according to the guidelines in the Elementary Assignment Manual. These guidelines were created to uphold the Board of Education Diversity Policy.

All high school aged students are assigned to White Plains High School. Assignments to Rochambeau Alternative High School are made by high school personnel referral only.
