The mathematics curriculum in grades K-5 is aligned with the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards. The core instructional resource for the mathematics curriculum at the elementary level is enVision Mathematics 2020,  published by Savvas. The K-5 mathematics curriculum focuses on problem-based learning, develops mathematics conceptual understanding, and connects mathematical content and processes. During math workshop, students engage in hands-on and minds-on learning experiences as they explore grade level concepts. These experiences include work with engaging materials, manipulatives, videos, online applications, and interdisciplinary activities that promote student learning. 

The New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards focus on the mathematical practices listed below:
