The vision of the White Plains Fine Arts Program is to engage, nurture, and inspire students by developing their expressive abilities, technical skills, and understanding of the sociocultural relevance of the arts.

We believe Fine Arts Education is essential to the development of all students and we offer instruction in Music and Art for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our WPHS production of MAMMA MIA! won the Metro Award for Best Student Orchestra. The Metro Awards are the regional awards for high school theater. Mr. Gary Casity was present at the award ceremony to accept on behalf of our talented student musicians.
Congratulations to the everyone involved in MAMMA MIA! and especially to our Student Orchestra and their wonderful advisor, Mr. Gary Casity!

Congratulations to the WPHS Symphonic Band and Honors String Ensemble. Both groups participated in the New York State School Music Association Majors festival in Lakeland, NY this week. They performed for an adjudicator and received a rating based on their performance. They have been working on the pieces they performed for several months! The Symphonic Band received a Gold rating and the the Honors String Ensemble received a Gold with Distinction!!! Congratulations to all of the students and their teachers, Dr. William Tonissen and Mr. Zachary May. Both groups represented the White Plains music department beautifully!
