Great Books

English Language Arts Enrichment (Gr. 2-5)
The ELA enrichment program uses the Great Books model to enhance reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary development, and writing skills. High-quality literature from around the world is utilized to teach students to participate in Socratic-like seminars, in which students interpret complex texts and support their opinions with text-based evidence in classroom discussions.  The Great Books model encourages students to become highly engaged and reflective as readers, writers and communicators.
