Empathy was at the forefront at Post Road Elementary School last week, as they celebrated Kindness Week! Kindness Week started two weeks ago with a food drive to support the Post Road Market, the school’s food pantry. After being invited to make donations to the food pantry, students learned the importance of empathy and felt empowered to make an impact in their school community by giving to those in need.

Kindness Week continued last week with each day having a focus, starting with being kind to yourself, then others and the world. There were also days centered around kindness in action and writing kindness quotes. Post Road students kicked off the week by watching the kindness video and concluded with Friday’s assembly program. Click here to check out the Kindness video! The program included students giving examples of kindness, performing a kindness skit that promoted inclusion, kindness poetry and a kindness battle. All participants in the kindness battle won a trophy that students designed and were created using the school's 3D printer!
