Church Street students run in Turkey Trot PTA fundraiser

Church Street Elementary School students raced around the school last Friday for their Turkey Trot, a fundraiser organized by the PTA. Parents cheered their children on as they ran, and each student received a medal as they crossed the finish line! The race, which was for fifth grade students in the past, was recently expanded to be more inclusive and allow all students to participate.

This year’s race raised the most money ever for this fundraiser, with the PTA exceeding its goal of $5,000 by the morning of the race. As a result, students will have a pajama day and extra recess on a future date. Fifteen percent of the funds raised will support 5th grade class activities, and the remaining will go to the PTA, helping to provide enriching programs like assemblies and a new augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) board for the playground.
