A large group of White Plains City School District employees were recognized Monday night for marking a special milestone: 25 years of dedicated service in the district.

Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca congratulated the teachers and staff members for their lengthy service during a Board of Education meeting in which he also paid homage to dozens of new retirees.

“It’s a long time, but truly a blink of an eye, right?” he said about those who’ve reached the quarter-century mark.

“When you look back, when we think about it, you look back and it’s ‘boom!’ – 25, 30 years – it’s fast, it goes fast, and we’re so grateful to be able to celebrate colleagues who have served in the White Plains City School District for 25 years,” Dr. Ricca said.

The employees were then called up to the stage in the White Plains High School auditorium and handed certificates.
