WPCSD Athletics Update - October 7, 2025

The White Plains Tigers capped off an exciting week by welcoming the next generation of student-athletes to the field for Tigers in Training at the Friday night varsity football game. Students in all sports put in great performances leading up to the game, including senior Ryleigh Baumann taking home first place in the Valley Central dive meet, with freshman Isabella Benjamin receiving fifth place. 

Standout Team Performances

Varsity Football 

  • Won 35-27 at Roy C. Ketcham on September 26 and 33-32 vs. East Ramapo on October 3.
  • Isaiah Pierre was also a nominee for LoHud Football Player of the Week for his outstanding performance at Roy C. Ketcham.

Varsity Boys Soccer

  • Defeated Port Chester 1-0 on September 26. Goal by Eric Garcia from a foul earned by a Mustafa Ghafoor shot. 
  • 2-2 tie vs Mount Vernon on September 30: Eric Garcia scored for White Plains, Jeronimo Montenegro with an assist.  
  • 0-0 tie in rivalry game against Mamaroneck on October 4. Edgar Garcia with four saves for White Plains.


Varsity Girls Soccer

  • Took home third place at Broncofest on September 27, defeating Valhalla 8-1.
  • Beat Clarkstown North 3-0 on September 29.
  • Won 4-2 over Byram Hills on October 4.

Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving: Valley Central dive meet

  • 1st place: Senior Ryleigh Baumann.
  • 5th place: Freshman Isabella Benjamin.

Cross Country

  • Boys Varsity and JV each took first in their races at the Fred Gressler Memorial Run.
  • The team took a trip to the Woods Trail Run in Vermont on October 4.

  • Defeated Suffern 3-0 on September 30.
  • Won against Nanuet 3-0 on October 3.
