Committee reviews White Plains City School District Strategic Plan

Community members, educators, administrators and parents came together on August 12 to evaluate and discuss the White Plains City School District's Strategic Plan, continuing the district’s annual process of reviewing priorities and identifying opportunities to strengthen student outcomes.

The committee meeting brought together a diverse group of stakeholders to reflect on the district's progress and examine goals for the future. Participants reviewed current initiatives, discussed areas of success and identified opportunities for continued growth in support of students across the district.

“Our strategic plan is the foundation on which we build our annual goals and objectives every single year,” said Superintendent Dr. Joseph L. Ricca. “By refreshing and revisiting it annually, we can make sure our goals remain relevant, focused on our students and responsive to their changing needs. Thanks to the hard work of our Board of Education, staff and community, we are in a very strong position, with a plan that is demonstrably focused on our students, our services and the opportunities we provide.”

The Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap for the district's work and is refined each year through a collaborative planning process. The plan is approved annually by the Board of Education.

The district's vision is to "unlock the infinite and unique potential of each student, every day," while its mission is to “educate and inspire all students, while nurturing their dreams, so they learn continually, think critically, pursue their aspirations and contribute to a diverse and dynamic world.”
