Administrators meet to review school year and prepare for 2026-27 school year

Administrators from the White Plains City School District met on Thursday for their annual retreat to reflect on the 2025-26 school year and continue planning for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.
“It was a great year,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Ricca. “There was a lot that happened, a lot of really good things to be proud of and things to work on, which is normal; that’s what we do.”
He praised the collaboration between all administrators despite the large size of the school district.
“We’re a city school district, but I get to work with every single one of you pretty closely all the time,” Dr. Ricca said. “I’ve worked with many of you for nine years, eight years, seven years. It’s been a real pleasure because during that time; we’ve all grown, and I got to see that.”
Administrators completed a strategic planning workshop led by Laurie Kimbrel from Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates during the retreat. The school district guides itself to success through its strategic plan, which is consistently being reviewed and improved through collaboration with the staff and the community.
During the workshop, they reviewed the priority areas in the strategic plan of educating students, supporting students, and partnering with families and the community to expand opportunities for every student. They talked about how they can build on their project and developed goals for the 2026-27 school year.
