Middle school students honored at National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony

More than 150 students were honored during the annual National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Induction Ceremony, which was held recently at Highlands Middle School.

The event -- which recognized outstanding students for their academic achievement, leadership and service -- was supported by Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca, Highlands Principal Joseph Spero and Eastview Principal Leroy Dixon.

Guidance counselor Helena Valdes served as the evening's Keynote Speaker. National Honor Society Co-Presidents and graduating seniors William McDermott and Olivia Tuzel participated in the ceremony.

Co-Advisors Caryn Friedman and Mary O'Sullivan led the official NJHS process.

This moving induction ceremony stood as a testament to the hard work of White Plains' most resilient, community-minded and intellectually driven young scholars.
