    HOMEWORK (20%)

Homework will be assigned every day in class and will be checked the following day at the beginning of class. (Homework should be on loose-leaf paper, in pencil, and with all work shown). Each homework is worth 5 points each. A student must attempt every problem to receive a 5. If the homework is incomplete, the student will receive a 3 or 4 based on the amount completed. Late homework is not accepted. If a student is absent from school, the assignment will be checked the day the student returns to class.

    ASSESSMENTS (65%)

Assessments consist of Tests and Quizzes

    • TESTS – Students will be given a test at the end of every unit, and will be announced in class. If a student misses a test for any reason they must see Ms. Sohr to schedule a time to make it up. There are about 3 tests each marking period.

    • QUIZZES – A pop quiz will be given about once a week and will contain mostly homework questions.  Any student who misses a quiz has one week to make it up before it counts as zero.

    PROBLEMS OF THE WEEK (15%)

Problems of the Week are also known as POWs and are distributed about four times a marking period. The lowest score will be dropped. Projects can also be given in lieu of POWs.
