• The Application Process

**Late applications will not be considered**

NHS receives a list of GPAs for Juniors and Seniors by October 1 of each year.

Invitation letters will be sent to all juniors and seniors who have accumulated a weighted GPA of at least 3.700.  Letters are sent by REGULAR MAIL to the address WPHS on file.  Please make sure your mailing address is up to date with the district.

*previously inducted seniors will not receive a new letter and do not need to re-apply*

*students who are dismissed from NHS are not eligible for re-admission*

Students apply online through instructions given in the invitation letter.

After the application deadline, students will receive notification, through REMIND, on when the first meeting will occur.

After the application deadline, teachers will be contacted to see if there is any reason why any of the applicants should not be considered for NHS in terms of character.  Character is an important consideration in NHS.

Provided that no teacher has given any reason to question the applicant's character, all students will be given preliminary acceptance into NHS.

APPLYING TO NHS DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACCEPTANCE.  If there is some reason the applicant does not meet the requirements of acceptance, you will also be notified.

All further information will be discussed at the first meeting.
