Congratulations to the WP Men's Swimming & Diving Team
Go Tigers!
The White Plains Men’s swimming and diving team completed their season with wonderful results. Competing virtually for sectionals the team set two new school records and had a number of outstanding performances. The team of Kevin Euyoque (jr.), Michael Weinstein (so.), Cooper Lang (sr.) and Dillon Montee (sr.) set a school record in the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:42.07. This shattered the previous record of 1:44.61 held by A. Bennett, Z. Eller, C. Gonzalez and W. Rose set in 2008. Cooper Lang also set a school record in the 100 fly, with a time of 53.55. This time would have qualified him for states if they were being held. Cooper broke the previous record held by Clifford Gonzalez set in 2005. Strong individual performances by Michael Weinstein, 100 free and breast, Kevin Euyoque, 100 free and 200 IM, Aaron Levy, 500 free, Domenic Norfleet, 100 back and Dillon Montee, 50 free, contributed to the teams final placement. The 400 relay team of Aidan Bartlett, Edward Molina, Aaron Levy, Dillon Montee and Elijah Lopez capped off the final event successfully. Congratulations to an amazing team on outstanding performances.

Late Friday afternoon (1/22/2021), Governor Cuomo announced that higher-risk sports may begin on February 1, 2021, with approval from the local county department of health. This change in the guidance specifically pertains to the Winter season sports of Cheerleading, Basketball, Ice Hockey, and Wrestling, the Fall 2 season sports of Cheerleading, Football, and Volleyball, and the Spring season sport of Boys' Lacrosse.
Though we still need to hear from the New York State Public High School Athletics Association (NYSPHSAA), the Westchester County Department of Health, and Section 1, this is great news for our student-athletes. As more information becomes available, we will open family ID. I will be sure to keep you informed as soon as new information is available.
Our school sponsored open workout schedule at WPHS remains the same until further notice.
For your convenience, I have italicized the relevant guidance from the Interim Guidance for Sports and Recreation during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency below; the entire document can be found here.
