** 3rd Grade Recorders **

"HOT CROSS BUNS" FOR A WHITE BELT, (THIS SONG HAS B, A, and G)
"GENTLY SLEEP" FOR A YELLOW BELT, (THIS SONG HAS B, A, and G)
"MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG" FOR AN ORANGE BELT, (THIS SONG HAS B, A, and G)
"IT'S RAINING" FOR A GREEN BELT, (THIS SONG HAS A, G, and E)
and "OLD MACDONALD" FOR A PURPLE BELT. (THIS SONG HAS B, A, G, E and D)
1. Your recorder should "live" in your backpack.
2. If you want to wash your recorder (and you should every once in a while) it can be washed with dishsoap and warm water. It can even go in the washing machine.
3. If the recorder is making a squeaking sound it can be one of a couple things. Here are a couple common causes of squeaking:
AIR FLOW. Too much air pushed too hard will cause severe squeaking or squeling. Just a gentle flow of air is needed. (like blowing on hot chocolate)
HOLES ARE NOT COMPLETELY COVERED. Be sure that fingers are completely covering the holes. Check for "donut holes". If you hold your fingers firmly down you will see little circles on your fingertips.
