The Gymnastic Tumbling Unit seems to be the favor unit among our students at Church Street School. All of our activity units are based upon participation and keeping with our departmental philosophy of doing your best and trying new and exciting things.
SAFETY IS ALWAYS THE MAIN COMPONENT OF OUR GYMNASTIC UNIT.
Gymnastic is taught in Grades K-5 and held annually during the months of January and February. Children are given a developmental approach in exposing each individual to a variety of Gymnastic challenges and Stations.
Stations: Tumbling, Rope Swinging & Climbing, Balance Beams, Rings, Cargo Net Climbing and Low Level Vaulting.
Students routinely are asked to take off their sneakers, shoes & boots during this unit and participate in their socks. So it's best to practice with your child shoe lacing tying in advance so they are able at the end of each class to independently tie their own footwear. Velcro is always encourage for Grades K-1.
