Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lake

Hello! This is my third year working at Post Road School in White Plains. I taught special education students in grades K-3 for four years in the New York City School District and one year as an intern at the Windward School.
I grew up in Westchester County. I currently reside with my husband and cat in Ridgefield, Connecticut. I enjoy reading, cooking, yoga, and traveling during my free time. I love being outside and hosting family and friends in my new home.
I decided to become a teacher when I was a young child. My younger brother had a severe learning disability and anxiety disorder. My parents struggled to find out ways to help my brother cope with these issues in school and at home. As my brother entered third grade, he finally had a teacher that showed concern, dedication, and perseverance. By the end of the year, my brother loved going to school and was excelling in all areas of literacy! This teacher changed my brother's life and left a lasting impact on our whole family. She inspires me to do the BEST I can each day while working with children.
I am thankful to be given the opportunity to support children with disabilities. I know that my job as a teacher can make a difference in a child's life. I look forward to working with the children and families of Post Road School. I have a "do not hesititate" policy which means that I am open to speaking with you at any time about any concerns or questions that you may have. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I encourage communication so that we can work as a team and grow like champions this year!
