• Philosophy of Art
Art is an integral part of the human story. Before there was written language, there were visual images. The visual arts foster the child's creativity, uniqueness and interaction with their community and environment.  The creative, emotional and intellectual development of children requires the ability to connect, construct and communicate visually.  The philosophy of the Fine Arts Department is to provide students with an educational environment that requires higher level thinking skills, critical problem solving and the ability to synthesize knowledge and experience.  The faculty provides studio experiences that address diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.  Our hope for the outcome of these experiences will be to foster individuals with aesthetic judgement who realize the creative potential in themselves and value it in others.
