The show must go on! Fifth-grade students at George Washington Elementary School are practicing for their performances with the help of instructors from Dance Cavise as a part of the Beyond Broadway program. Students began rehearsing during the first week of December.

Seventh graders at Highlands Middle School bumped, set and spiked their way through the school’s second annual 7th Grade Volleyball Tournament. Seventh and eighth grade Highlands students can earn "Tiger Points" for their teams during the gradewide athletic tournaments, with Team 7B taking the victory in volleyball. The students had a wonderful time earning Tiger Points for their team.
George Washington and Mamaroneck Avenue schools joined all elementary buildings this week in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, which features different daily themes that honor “every student’s right to learn in an environment that supports diverse needs, embraces unique abilities and fosters a sense of belonging.”

Post Road Elementary School transformed into a miniature globe Tuesday as students celebrated World Culture Day by “traveling” from country to country with paper passports that teachers stamped upon entry into each classroom.
Ridgeway students strapped on their running shoes and raced each other this morning in the school's annual Turkey Trot, a fundraiser hosted by the PTA. Teachers even joined in on the fun with an inflatable mascot race to kick off the festivities.
Students at Church Street were treated to a Broadway show right from the comfort of their own auditorium last Wednesday through Friday. Fifth-grade students performed songs and dances from five famous theater productions in their Beyond Broadway show, which is a program that is funded in part by The Friends of White Plains Public Schools, who were in attendance alongside members of Grandpas United.
