The show must go on! Fifth-grade students at George Washington Elementary School are practicing for their performances with the help of instructors from Dance Cavise as a part of the Beyond Broadway program. Students began rehearsing during the first week of December.

Seventh graders at Highlands Middle School bumped, set and spiked their way through the school’s second annual 7th Grade Volleyball Tournament. Seventh and eighth grade Highlands students can earn "Tiger Points" for their teams during the gradewide athletic tournaments, with Team 7B taking the victory in volleyball. The students had a wonderful time earning Tiger Points for their team.

George Washington and Mamaroneck Avenue schools joined all elementary buildings this week in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, which features different daily themes that honor “every student’s right to learn in an environment that supports diverse needs, embraces unique abilities and fosters a sense of belonging.” 

Ridgeway Elementary School third-grade teacher George Tsuji and PTA leader Kelli Teglas were honored Wednesday with the Heroes in Education Recognition at the Westchester–East Putnam Region PTA’s Annual Winter Luncheon.

The White Plains High School wrestling team pinned down a powerhouse performance this past weekend -- finishing third out of 12 teams at the annual White Plains Tiger Invitational, where 12 wrestlers placed in the top eight of their weight classes, including four finalists and two champions.

Eastview Middle School students were plugged in and powered up Tuesday for Computer Science Week, which transformed the gym into a playground for tech-powered discovery and fitness.

Families of eighth-grade students filled the halls of White Plains High School on Thursday evening as current Tigers led tours throughout the building to offer an inside look at what incoming freshmen can expect next fall.

Students at George Washington Elementary School transformed their dual-language classrooms into living science museums Wednesday afternoon as they welcomed dozens of parents to explore their English and Spanish ecosystems exhibits.

Ridgeway School third-grade teacher George Tsuji has been selected as a 2025 Hero in Education by the Westchester East Putnam PTA, an honor that recognizes educators and community members who embody the PTA’s mission of supporting and empowering every child.

White Plains Soccer Fest 2026 needs a logo -- and you can design it to help celebrate the global impact of World Cup competition and promote the City of White Plains as the central economic and cultural hub of Westchester County! 

Post Road Elementary School transformed into a miniature globe Tuesday as students celebrated World Culture Day by “traveling” from country to country with paper passports that teachers stamped upon entry into each classroom.

Ridgeway students strapped on their running shoes and raced each other this morning in the school's annual Turkey Trot, a fundraiser hosted by the PTA. Teachers even joined in on the fun with an inflatable mascot race to kick off the festivities.

Students at Church Street were treated to a Broadway show right from the comfort of their own auditorium last Wednesday through Friday. Fifth-grade students performed songs and dances from five famous theater productions in their Beyond Broadway show, which is a program that is funded in part by The Friends of White Plains Public Schools, who were in attendance alongside members of Grandpas United.

Students at Highlands Middle School were treated to a high-energy visit from Thomas “TJ” Cristina, CEO and co-founder of the popular athletic and casual apparel brand GOAT USA – who urged them to not wait for opportunities to come knocking.

Five standout athletes at White Plains High School received a spirited send-off Thursday morning on their way to the 2025 NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving State Championships in Webster, N,Y.

Pride, emotion and years of hard work were on full display Monday afternoon at White Plains High School, where four outstanding senior athletes celebrated their acceptance to NCAA Division I colleges next year.
