From ideas to MVPs: WPHS students pitch products, services in incubator competition

White Plains High School briefly turned into a mini “Shark Tank” as seven teams of juniors and seniors competing in the INCubatoredu took the stage to present their early-stage business plans to a panel of seasoned advisers. Hosted by teacher Jesse Drury, the event was a chance for the fledgling entrepreneurs to pressure-test their ventures and gauge preliminary investor interest before the high-stakes Final Pitch in June.

WPHS senior Eliana Lieber receives National Honor Society scholarship

The National Honor Society announced recipients of the NHS Scholarship program this week, and White Plains High School senior Eliana Lieber received $3,200 as a National Semifinalist! The prestigious scholarship is being awarded to only 600 students nationally this year. Congratulations Eliana! #WPProud🐯

Two WPHS student-athletes achieve new heights with school diving record and scholar athlete recognition

White Plains High School student-athletes have been proving themselves all year! Recently, 11th-grade diver Jack Cullen broke the team record – again – for the 11 dive with a new score of 425.60. Earlier this season, he set the record at 421.1. Also, senior football player Isaiah Pierre was named as an honorable mention for this year’s Section 1 Golden Dozen Scholar Athlete class, which was announced on January 30.

Advisers and advocates: WPCSD counselors help students thrive from K to 12 and beyond

The 21 counselors in the White Plains City School District wear many hats: academic advisers, close confidantes, calm mediators, relentless advocates and trusted guides.On any given day, they may help a fifth-grader calm racing thoughts, walk a seventh-grader through peer conflict, coach a high school student through class planning or listen to a teenager who just needs to be heard. It’s National School Counseling Week, which focuses “public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems,” according to the American School Counselor Association.

Ridgeway students get ideas for future at College and Career Day

“You can be anything you want to be!” was the message for Ridgeway Elementary School’s College and Career Day today. Parents who work across a broad spectrum of careers visited the school to share their experiences and show students that there are many great and fulfilling ways to make a living. Ridgeway teachers even shared their experiences from their careers!

WPHS Musical Production: Once Upon a Mattress (Feb. 7-9)

White Plains High School Presents: Once Upon a Mattress. WPHS students will perform in their musical production at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7. They will perform again at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 8. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students, seniors and WPCSD faculty. Join us in supporting our students! #WPProud

Food and culture on display at Eastview Middle School's International Night

International Night at Eastview Middle School on Wednesday was a special celebration of culture, talent, and community. The performances by the ANJA Dance Group and the EVMS Step team were breathtaking, showcasing an incredible amount of time, effort, and pride in every routine.

Long-Range Strategic Plan for 2025-26 through 2029-30 presented at Board meeting

The White Plains City School District’s updated Long-Range Plan was presented to the community at the Board of Education meeting Monday, January 12, 2026. Dr. Joseph Ricca, Superintendent, and Dr. Ann Vaccaro-Teich, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations, outlined the district’s organizational and financial forecast through the 2029-30 school year and discussed the priorities of different departments during the presentation.

Spellbound: Church Street School students rise to the word challenge

For Ema Zdravkovic, success is spelled O-N-S-L-A-U-G-H-T. That word — onslaught — sealed victory for the fourth-grader at Church Street Elementary School on Wednesday morning during the fourth- and fifth-grade spelling bee, a nearly two-hour competition that tested vocabulary, courage and composure.
