Hoops For Heart

There continues to be a national concern with young children, adolescents and adults about the lack of Physical Activity these groups are engaged in. Research has demonstrated that all individuals can benefit from regular exercise whether it be vigorous or moderate. Although the young population are more active than when compared to adults, a major concern is that a drastic change in activity occurs for adolescents 12-19 years of age. This lack of  Physical Activity can reduce the quality of life for our growing children. The American Heart Association run events that inform and educate our children in the importance and benefits of living an active life. Two of this events are Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart. Here at Eastview Middle School we run both events for one cycle. We believe that the children can benefit from the events, have fun exercising, and learn the different ways to stay fit.
