Welcome to the home page of the English Language Arts Department of the White Plains City School District. The ELA Program is designed to enable students to become articulate speakers, responsive listeners, skillful readers, effective writers and resourceful problem solvers who are prepared to be contributing members of our democratic society. This goal is accomplished through immersing our students in a rigorous, coherent, unified English Language Arts curriculum.

Join us on Friday, May 18th from 6-8pm at Barnes & Noble City Center for the Summer Reading Kick-Off for grades 6-12.
 
We'll have giveaways and summer reading suggestions on display. Entertainment will be provided by White Plains High School's Songwriter's Club!
