Teachers at the STAR Program are committed to creating an interactive learning community. They use a wide range of available tools including interactive whiteboards which have been installed in each classroom.
Inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock, STAR students created their own “action” painting by dripping, pouring, and splattering liquid paint onto a horizontal canvas lying on the floor. The untitled painting hangs at STAR.
The past four years, students at STAR Program have scored well on the 164 New York State Regents exams taken. 83% of those exams were passed with a score of 65% or higher. 95% of those exams were passed with a score of 55% or higher.
